JC's Circuit Inspired GR Yaris
With a fresh, unmolested platform we had the pleasure and time to speak to our customer and implement his objective.
The objective was simple. Make it track ready with reliability and safety in mind. Currently owning a couple of Porsche GT cars, he didn't need anything ridiculously powerful.
The engine and bolt on power modifications were kept simple and tasteful by fitting our Lamspeed Racing Catted down and midpipe, Akrapovic Exhaust System's titanium catback exhaust and Eventuri carbon intake - all controlled by a MoTeC GR Yaris PNP ECU tuned by Armour Motorsport Services.
Safety modifications include a pair of RECARO Pro Racer RMS fixed bucket seats and Ministry bolt in roll cage, which we then customised so that the full OEM interior trim was able to be fitted along with a custom floor so that he could still carry his track gear.
Handling modifications consists of a plethora of Hardrace Suspension Australia and Cusco adjustable components with front and rear plated LSDs.
Putting the power to the tarmac is a set of Rays Engineering TE37SLs, wrapped in Yokohama Motorsport Tyres Australia's A050 265 semi slicks.
Engine modifications to keep the G16E-GTS reliable are a set of Kelford Cams upgraded valve springs, titanium retainers and billet camshafts.
With our knowledge and expertise, we knew that once we fit large sticky tyres, the first thing that would let go is the gearbox.
We took this opportunity to upgrade this with a Drenth Motorsport Gearboxes' close ratio sequential gearbox.
Other modifications include:
- Lamspeed Racing coolant pressure sensor kit and oil cooler kit
- Elsport carbon door trims
- HKS carbon engine cover
- Motec C125 logger dash
- Varis Japan MFG Co. Ltd carbon vented bonnet
